We believe that God's abundance can be trusted. Everything we have -- everything we've been entrusted with is a gift from God. We call that "grace." We give back to God out of our deep gratitude for God's generosity -- not because we have to but because we want to share in God's love and be partners in God's redeeming work in the world. We believe our giving should flow out of the following:
Grace: Grace is God’s gift offered to us apart from any earning or deserving on our part. On account of God’s grace, neither our sins against God and neighbor, nor our failures to live according to God’s commandments, can condemn us. Thus, we are redeemed and free to live joyfully, abundantly, and unreservedly.
Gratitude: Freed from the need to earn God’s salvation, we are empowered to simply live lives of joyful gratitude in response to this free and life-giving gift. We live out our faith, therefore, not in terms of obligation or under the burden of expectations but in gratitude for having received a gift we could neither merit nor imagine.
Generosity: Grace frees us to live according to abundance and to love as Christ loved us. The God who has gratuitously given us everything in Christ is a God who can be trusted to supply our every need. Jesus teaches that our love of neighbor is analogous to our love of God, so we strive to love abundantly and give generously, for this is the way of God.
Growth: We never advance to a stage in life where we no longer need God's grace. We grow in our faith, and in our Christ-likeness, by keeping God's grace at the center of our lives and at the center of the life of the church. Giving allows us to grow by trusting the sufficiency of God's grace. Your giving also helps grow the church by sustaining the ministries of this congregation and ensuring that there is a community of grace & peace that is rooted in Christ for the renewal of all things for generations to come.
